This is a small (3x3inch) WordClock by Andy Doro and Adafruit, with minor modifications. Behind the face of laser-cut acrylic with a stencil font is an 8x8 matrix of DS3212 "Neopixel" LEDs, which are simple to control in large numbers with a single data line. Each LED is capable of thousands of colors, gradually fading through the color spectrum as time is kept internally with an Arduino Nano and DS3212 RTC. No muss, no fuss, and automatic change for Daylight Saving Time. Automatic dimming of the display as well. And the usual Easter eggs are built in as well, for the amusement of friends and family. |
